So, here we go…

The 20 Beauty Questions Tag

  1. Do you remember your first makeup item?

I think it was a random lipstick. One of my first items was a mascara from Avon (my first mascara). I may not have bought anything from Avon ever since!

And since I don’t remember much about my very first makeup item, I can mention my first MAC item, which was Plink! lipstick. I have repurchased it ever since.

  1. Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one that fits your specifications?

My perfect mascara should give curl and hold it, first and foremost and also give volume. Some length would be nice, but I try to stay realistic.

Usually, I opt for waterproof or long lasting mascaras since they tend to hold the curl the best. I’m still in quest of the one!

  1. What kind of coverage do you prefer from a foundation?

Probably medium or even light and spot correcting with concealer. I don’t like full coverage. I prefer people saying “I like your skin” rather than “I like your foundation”. I usually don’t wear foundation on a daily basis, I opt for a tinted sunscreen or a BB cream.

  1. Favorite high-end brand?

M·A·C. Professionals use MAC a lot and that says something, doesn’t it? You can find anything you are looking for there, they are good quality products and yet not as expensive as other high-end brands.

  1. Favorite drugstore brand?

Overall probably Essence. It’s really inexpensive and the products are good enough for the most part. I also like Wet n Wild shadows. Over here drugstore brands can cost almost as much as MAC, so I’d rather pay slightly more and get MAC instead, but Essence is considerably less expensive.

  1. Is there any kind of makeup you can’t leave the house without?

Without having it on? If that’s the case, I usually have to have on a bit of mascara and brow pencil and for my pale days I need some blush too. But it’s not like I haven’t got myself out of the door completely makeup – free.

If the question is about a makeup product that I need to have with me and reapply it, I usually do not carry any makeup with me apart from lip balm, which is not exactly makeup. At night time I opt for a moisturizing lipstick instead.

  1. What is your most cherished beauty product?

I don’t think I have a specific one.

  1. How often do you shop for makeup?

That depends. Now, I guess once or twice a month.

  1. Do you have a “beauty budget” or you spend freely?

When I go shopping I do have a budget and it usually depends on the money I have in my wallet!

  1. What type of product do you buy the most of?

Everything! But I guess eyeshadow, even though I have a soft spot for blushes.

  1. Do you avoid certain ingredients in cosmetics like parabens or sulfates?

I do look at the ingredients and I try to avoid parabens. I also prefer buying from brands that do not use parabens and stuff so I don’t have to check the ingredients. So I prefer buying from MAC, INGLOT, Korres… But lately more and more brands know that customers are cautious of the ingredients and avoid using parabens.

  1. Do you have a favorite place to shop for makeup?

Not really.

  1. Do you like trying new skincare products or do you keep a certain routine?

I usually do not try new skincare products, unless I’m not satisfied with what I’m using and I’m looking for something specific. I do try different face masks, though.

  1. Favorite bath and body brand?

I do not actually have a favorite one, but I use a lot of Korres products, so I guess Korres.

  1. Do you like multifunctional products like lip and cheek stains?

Definitely. They do not even have to be called “multifunctional”, technically everything is. I use cream blushes on my lips all the time, a matte taupe shadow is good for contouring, a matte yellowish cream shadow for under-eye powder. Eyeshadow can be used for highlighting and a highlighter for eyeshadow, a bronzer too.

  1. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

Not really.

  1. Do you ever consider taking makeup classes?

I have thought about it, but mostly for the privileges that a certificate would give me (discount, access to beauty shows and expos).

  1. What do you love about makeup?

Hmmm… I’m not so sure, I simply like it. And as the mid-’90s song says, “If it makes you happy, it can’t be that bad”!

  1. Dramatic or Natural Makeup look?

Natural.

  1. Worst makeup-related habit?

I don’t think I have any really bad habit. I guess buying new things that I don’t really need, especially when I already have similar ones can be considered a bad habit, right?
