Earlier this summer M·A·C announced a Selena collection that will be launched in 2016. This limited edition collection has triggered an Aaliyah for M·A·C petition, a petition to M·A·C for a full collection, as it says, in honor of the late RnB star. As a matter of fact, it was a fan petition on Change.org, started by Selena Quintanilla’s fan Patty Rodriguez in February 2015, that led to the Selena collection, in the first place.
This time, again on Change.org, Jennifer Risinger and Trae Anna Burke ask for an Aaliyah M·A·C collection and in order to support their proposal, they state that Aaliyah stands for MAC’s mission of “All ages, All races, All sexes”. She was a risk-taker, innovator, edgy, street but sweet, & R and B’s Princess. She continues to influence today’s mainstream artist & people around the world still love and celebrate her life and music every year!
Aaliyah’s brother, Rashad Haughton, approves of the idea and notes that Aaliyah was a big fan of M·A·C. Her favorite M·A·C products were: ‘Chelsea’ and ‘Cherish’ lipsticks, ‘Chestnut’ lipliner, ‘Espresso’ and ‘Biscuit’ eyeshadows.
